The fourth major of women’s golf is over after a lot of twists, turns, and thrills. After waiting for what felt like an eternity to French golf fans, a French golfer won the tournament and brought the glory back to his homeland. But one other golfer who has been stunning her fellow golfers and fans is the young phenom, Rose Zhang.
The young golfing prodigy has been on a roll ever since her professional debut, and she doesn’t seem to stop! Even so, the former LPGA pro and 1X major champion could not help but praise her immensely.

Rose Zhang turned pro recently and ended up winning her debut professional event, the Mizuho Americas Open. Not only did she turn pro, but the Stanford Star also got an exemption to compete in the four remaining major tournaments of the year. As it turns out, the golfer has not disappointed anyone—not her fellow golfers, not her university, and not her fans.
As the major tournament in France was over, Zhang finished in ninth place at the $6.5 million event. This was her third major tournament after turning professional, and she finished in the top 10 yet again! Her first major after she turned pro was the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and she finished in the 8th position. Her form continued in the US Women’s Open, and she ended her game at T9.
The golf page of Stanford University posted a congratulatory message for their star, and Michelle Wie West could not help but be elated for her young fellow golfer. She reposted Stanford’s post on her Instagram story and wrote, “100% Top 10s in major after tuning pro, SHEEEESH @rosezhang you built differently.”

Well, indeed, it is true that Zhang is built differently. Her determination, her game, and her abilities are definitely commendable. So are her future plans, though, even though they’re the exact opposite of her idol, Tiger Woods!

While talking to the media just a few days ago, the 20-year-old Zhang revealed her future plans with regard to her education. Apart from being a pro golfer, she is pursuing a degree in Communications from Stanford University. She shared that she is planning to complete her education at Stanford and will be managing it along with her professional golf career.
Her decision was different than that of Woods, who dropped out of Stanford after he turned pro. Woods named this as one of his biggest regrets, and as it turns out, Rose Zhang doesn’t want to have that regret in her life.
