In the coming days, some of the biggest names in golf will be competing in the Mizuho Americas Open. It will be an event unlike any other, with Mizuho ambassador and tournament host Michelle Wie West playing a key role. But now, the 5-time LPGA Tour winner has another sensational achievement to celebrate! After all, Workday Sports, which helps sportspersons and teams usher in great results, announced her as their brand-new ambassador just hours ago!

By partnering with the near-$51 billion-dollar company, the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open champion now joins a roster that boasts the likes of Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Davis Love III, among others. “We are thrilled to have you join the Workday family, Michelle,” read the caption of the announcement post on Instagram.

Meanwhile, the Mizuho Americas Open will be held from June 1 to June 4. Before the tournament kicked off, West offered some more insights into its unique format.

One thing that sets this event apart is that it will be running simultaneously with the AJGA Invitational. This means that 24 of the most prolific players in girls’ junior golf will be competing alongside the LPGA’s heavyweights. “I think having the junior component for my tournament is really nice,” West revealed in an interview a few days ago. “I think for all the players in the field because I mean, even all the players in the PGA Championship right now, we’ve all been junior golfers.

While she won’t be teeing it up at Liberty National, West will definitely be keeping a keen eye on all aspects of the event as its host. Once a young prodigy herself, West qualified for a USGA amateur championship at age 10. She then followed it up by appearing in multiple PGA Tour events. Following groundbreaking golfing achievements, the golfer stepped away from the greens after competing in the U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles. West is, however, expected to appear at the upcoming U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach.
