This year, the 18th Solheim Cup will take place from September 22 to 24 at the Finca Cortesin in Andalusia, Spain. Stacy Lewis-led Team USA will take on Suzann Pettersen’s Team Europe in what is expected to be a highly thrilling tournament. After all, the European side has claimed the event’s last two editions, and the American team will, no doubt, want to get back to their winning ways. Furthermore, when Team USA descends upon European soil, they will need their fans to show up in huge numbers.
Nelly Korda, who currently sits at the helm of the USA’s Solheim Cup points table, did not mince words while asking supporters to back her squad down the road.

The top seven players on the points list by the end of August 27 will automatically make it onto the American team. The top two golfers on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings who are not already qualified will also join the roster. Finally, Stacy Lewis, the leader, will get two captain’s picks!
What do the USA Solheim Cup standings look like so far?
The recently concluded US Women’s Open has caused a significant reshuffle in the Team USA Solheim Cup standings. Allisen Corpuz, who won at Pebble Beach last Sunday, has jumped from No. 7 to No. 3 on the points list. Meanwhile, Rose Zhang is currently at No. 9. This means that if the qualifying period were to end today, Zhang would make the squad as one of the top two players on the Rolex Rankings who haven’t already qualified.

Following her top-10 finish at the US Women’s Open, Zhang jumped to the No. 37 spot in the world rankings. Consequently, the ex-Stanford star and World No. 36 Ally Ewing hold down the two world rankings spots in the Team USA Solheim Cup standings at the moment.
Additionally, captain Stacy Lewis has had eyes on Zhang for a while now, thanks to her stellar debut at the Mizuho Americas Open. Her back-to-back top-10 finishes at Baltusrol and Pebble Beach have only further boosted her chances.
