Fan-favorite Rose Zhang’s US Women’s Open campaign may not have gotten off to an ideal start, but she is going viral regardless. This time, it is all because of a shot that the 20-year-old has never once attempted in any tournament.

Late in the afternoon on Thursday, the golfer unleashed a beautiful chip from the green on 17, almost producing a birdie. Zhang’s par-saving shot had come from a distance of 53 feet.

Once I saw where my ball was, I couldn’t even think about even putting it. During the post-round press conference, the golfer also reflected on her viral shot from two days back!

Even as an amateur, Rose Zhang was making waves in the golf world. Her record 12 wins in 20 starts at Stanford trumped Tiger Woods‘ 11-for-26 during his time with the Cardinal. The noise surrounding the golfing phenom got even louder when she scripted a win in her very first tournament as a professional last month!

All thanks to her on-course heroics, the golfing prodigy has now become a force to be reckoned with in a very small amount of time. In fact, Zhang is so good that she pulls off cool trick shots without even wanting to! Case in point: her tee shot at the iconic par-3 7th on Pebble Beach that saw the tee fly into the air and land perfectly in her back pocket. The clip had been shared on Twitter by Callaway Golf, Zhang’s sponsor.

First of all, I had no idea that happened, and no one in my group knew either, from the caddies to my own teammates who I was playing with,” the golfer said about the viral moment on Thursday. “That’s a video that I’ll save forever. I don’t think I can ever do that again.
