The golf world is changing drastically and women golfers are particularly setting inspiring examples. One such golfer is Amy Olson. The golfer, who is seven-monthspregnant, is scheduled to compete in the 2023 US Women’s Open starting Thursday at the iconic Pebble Beach.

Olson qualified for the US Women’s Open when six months pregnant in May. Her decision to compete in the competition, in her own words, was only to inspire the up-and-coming golfers. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that she has become the talk of the town for her brace call. Let’s find out what else she said. 

Amy Olson reveals her pregnancy hardships

The soon-to-be mommy is all excited for the tournament to kick off as she is ready to create memorable stories at the upcoming event. Olson in reality, has put in great efforts to get in here and compete with others. The 30-year-old golfer first discovered in January 2023 that she was pregnant. Thereafter she checked the LPGA calendar for the year to figure out what all tournaments she can play with her condition at the forefront of her mind.

Furthermore, she also texted her fellow golfer friends to seek advice, golfers who had been through this before. Turned out she could play up to 28-30 weeks of pregnancy. So the US Women’s Open is going to be her last appearance — for now.  

In a video shared by USGA, the golfer said that she has been feeling good so far. However, she has to adjust her swing to accommodate her pregnancy. And then she dropped this: “But Pregnancy is like being on steroids.” 

Well, Olson is not only incredibly professional but with this enthusiasm she is demonstrating that it is possible to be both a successful golfer and a mother at the same time.

In that very same video, Grant Olson, Amy’s husband, remarked on the efforts that she has made. Grant went on to say that he had seen her do some impressive things with her game.

He further stated that all of her supporters, including her family, friends, and fans are ecstatic for her. They all are rooting for her and are also proud of her.
