The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, is all set to kick off on November 9 in Belle Air, Florida. Taking part in the same is none other than Madelene Sagstrom, the European Solheim Cup star. And, when asked about her relationship with Sorenstam, the Swedish professional had a lot to say about her.

In a press conference ahead of the tournament, the 30-year-old recalled the time when she met the legend back at “an Annika camp around one of her tournaments” in 2008–09. The young golfer revealed how she was “intimidated” and found the 72-time LPGA Tour champ “very untouchable” back then. However, she was quick to point out how nice and generous the Swedish ex-pro was.

Adding on, she divulged how her “relationship really started in ’17” when Sorenstam picked her for the Solheim Cup, after which they have been “super tight,” while mentioning how she spends a lot of time with her family as well. The 1X LPGA Tour winner also expressed her appreciation for their relationship, as she admitted that “having that access to her (Sorenstam’s) knowledge, her experience, and just being able to ask her questions is a huge resource,” all the while being a friend to the legend.

However, this is not the only European professional who took to an interview to talk about the 53-year-old ex-pro. Aline Krauter was also all praise for her ahead of the event on Thursday.
