A total of 72 teams kicked off the Dow Championship on Thursday. After the cut on Friday, 35 remain. However, the entertainment will remain unaffected, as the remaining teams will surely deliver an even more impressive performance on Moving Day, competing for a share of the $3,000,000 prize purse.

Only 35 teams out of 72 made the cut because they finished above the 7-under overall cutline after the second day of play. With the defending champions of the tournament, Elizabeth Szokol and Cheyenne Knight, failing to qualify, the cup and the title of champ are all ready to be claimed by a new team. Let us then look at when the rest of the squads will be teeing off at the Dow Championship on Saturday, as per the official announcement.

Ally Ewing hopes to redeem herself at the team event

Ally Ewing is currently leading the scoreboard with her teammate Jennifer Kupcho, all the while being tied with four other teams at the Dow Championship. The 31-year-old will be looking to redeem herself after missing out on glory at the 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. She finished T5 tied with Lauren Hartlage, all the while missing the win by four strokes to Amy Yang.

The close call caused her to only rake in 22 points on the world rankings, thereby allowing her to jump just three places from the 19th spot. This, in turn, caused her to lose her spot on the American Olympic team for the upcoming 2024 Paris Games, set to kick off in July. Had she finished two strokes higher, then the golfer would have gotten into the top 15 with the points and automatically qualified for the same. Instead, the U.S.A. team will feature only three LPGA Tour pros, including Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu, and Rose Zhang.

Coming back to the ongoing team championship event. Ewing and Kupcho, along with the other four squads, currently boast a score of 12-under overall. They are tied with the likes of Grace Kim & Auston Kim, Nicole Broch Estrup & Nanna Koerstz Madsen, and Ssu-Chia Cheng & Wei-Ling Hsu. Fans will need to keep their eyes open for the remaining two days, as exciting golf awaits the community at the Dow Championship!
