The current year has been a turning point in LPGA Tour Pro’s career in particular. Her very first LPGA win happened this year, and it turned out to be a major tournament as well. Following the grand win, she received a lot of attention and an invitation to be part of the US Solheim Cup team.

Moreover, this star is currently at the top of the official money list for the year 2023 on the LPGA. With a few events left for the current season, the 25-year-old answered a few questions at a press conference. She spoke about how her first major win impacted her life. The question was about the biggest change in Allisen Corpuz’s life after becoming the U.S. Open Champion. She responded that it would have to be the recognition she gets now. She explained that from week to week, the players keep track of who is winning, and winners get noticed.

Since her win was at one of the majors, the scale of recognition is much larger. The 25-year-old won the title at the U.S. Women’s Open Championship earlier this year, in July. Charley Hull and Jiyai Shin tried their best to snatch the victory, but Corpuz held on to it.

The Hawaiian golfer expressed her happiness at earning a spot on the Solheim Cup team this year and getting an invite to the Grand Thornton event, where she will pair up with Cameron Champ later this year. “Opportunities like that have been really awesome,” she exclaimed, citing that she owed it all to her major win. “I think the big way it’s changed my life so far.”

One question referred to the money list achievement and addressed her $3 million plus wins this year. It focused on whether she spent it on anything major. She responded that, besides the Lexus NX that she purchased earlier in the season, she hasn’t really spent much this year.

She might have only won one title so far, but she has had a splendid season so far. Here is a summary of how she has fared this year.

Allisen Corpuz and her amazing second year on the tour

Following up on her impressive rookie year in 2022, Corpuz performed quite well this year. She’s had five Top-10 finishes in 2023, including the US Open. Although she has been playing well, the youngster has yet to secure her second win on the tour.

After the US Open, she secured a solo second-place finish at the Dana Open in the same month. The very next month, in August, she finished the British Open in a shared sixth position. Going back to the first half of the year, Corpuz had a shared 3rd position at the HSBC Women’s World Championship. In April, she secured a shared 4th position at the Chevron Championship. Quite an impressive record, isn’t it?

The 25-year-old also still has the Pelican Championship and the CME Group Tour to look forward to, besides the Grand Thornton Invitational in December. Perhaps she can grab a trophy or two at the upcoming events; however, only time will tell if that comes to pass!
