Danielle Kang entered the 2023 US Women’s Open as one of the top 30-point leaders from the 2022 LPGA Race to the CME Globe. With one LPGA major under her belt, she is looking to score her second major in this tournament. The two-time US Women’s Amateur winner made the fans roar with her two-hop birdie.

The shot came on the 17th, and fans in attendance and the internet went wild. Taking into consideration that Kang is playing this year’s US Women’s Open with a tumor on her spine, she is proving to be a standout contender.

Prior to entering the tournament, Kang mentioned her goal in an interview with Golf Channel: “My goal is to play this week. I didn’t want to miss it. I’m really happy that I’m here. It’s been a difficult road, but I’m pretty stoked that I’m able to hit certain shots, and I feel like my game is a little bit there.” And that incredible shot certainly proved that she’s on her way to achieving those goals!

The road to the 2023 US Women’s Open has not been easy for Kang. She turned Pro in 2011 and has since won six LPGA tournaments. The 2017 Women’s PGA Championship has been her only major win. She placed fourth in the 2018 US Women’s Open, followed by sixth at the 2019 ANA Inspiration.
