Last year, Henderson had an average season. For the Evian Championship, she also ended a wild final round on the 18th hole by finishing on 17-under 267. She won the major by one stroke ahead of Sophia Schubert at the Evian Resort Golf Club. Post-victory, she then went on to give a victory interview.
While speaking with the moderator, the 25-year-old revealed more about her performance. She mentioned how being patient helped her to reach where she is. She further confessed that she used to keep on reminding herself that she could do it as she only needed a few more birdies to win. “And just needed a little bit of momentum change to stay in it,” Henderson further expressed.
The 2016 Women’s PGA Championship Winner also added, “and I made some clutch putts and shots down the stretch which really helped.” In addition to winning her second major title, she also earned her 12th LPGA Tour victory with this win.
