On Day 2, Emily Pedersen, who carded the second hole-in-one in the history of the Solheim Cup, paired with Carlota Ciganda. The duo scored a 1-up for their team while playing against Team US’s Lilia Vu and Jennifer Kupcho.

On the 10th hole, American pro Vu missed a shot going downhill. While Europe’s Pedersen managed to land her tee shot at a distance of 10 feet from the flag. Europe now has two putts for the win, leading them to regain the lead in morning foursomes.

After a shocking morning yesterday, the European squad graced the field in the afternoon with a shift in their attitude. They were calmer and more stable. Perhaps, yesterday’s energy is shared by all the European team members today as well.

Solheim Cup had never seen a 4-0 clean sweep. While the Europeans were vying for their third consecutive win, the Americans initiated the iconic event by creating a memorable headline. Irrespective of what happens, this will always be their feat.

Stacy Lewis played a major role in this. European team looked dominant on paper, but Lewis made sure she created a well-equipped team ready to face everything. Along with her gut, she went with analytics to determine which player should be paired with whom.
