The most-awaited Solheim Cup is here, and the golf world is on the edge to see the two star-studded teams battle it in Spain. Glory, honor, and fame, everything is at stake for them. And the one star who seems to have her first day at the coveted cup sorted is Europe’s Charley Hull.

Making her sixth appearance for the European squad, Hull is chasing the third consecutive win for the hosts over Team USA. She is paired with Emily Pedersen, a former pairing that carded 1–1–0 in 2021. But it is more interesting to see who Hull is paired against.

England’s favorite Charley Hull might see tremendous support at home during the Solheim Cup. While it is uplifting from a European fan’s point of view, it appears a bad omen for her opponent Ally Ewing. It is going to be interesting to witness the two opponents tee off on Day 1 in foursomes.

Why? Because America’s Ally Ewing has not won against Charley Hull till now. Either this will mark a first for her, or she will continue seeking redemption, but this time on European soil.

Individually, Charley Hull’s 2021 record at the Solheim Cup reflects 2-2-0, while Ally Ewing stands at 1-2-1 for the same year. A month earlier, the European golfer did steal the lead from the American player at the British Open. And history has a knack of repeating itself.

Hull’s dominant spirit is reflected in the fact that even though she has not won in a long time, her pairing opposite Ally Ewing still puts her a point above. And because she is playing at home, this might just get her the lead and win she is craving.

Hull has been the center of attention in Spain for all the wrong reasons

Charley Hull and Co. landed in Spain planning their gameplay but forgot to address one important thing. Their attire. Ahead of the start of the first round, fans were disappointed to see the European team don a yellowish jersey during the opening ceremony.

While the American team graced the field with black attire at Marbella Arena, the European players wore a pale color on the stage. The golf world certainly expected better from them. However, the attire did not entirely take away their enthusiasm for the game.
