A double life of sorts! But mind you, do not mistake it for a secretive one. Nevertheless, Rose Zhang has been attempting to lead such a life for a while now, especially after the 2023 LPGA Tour schedule, following which she went back to school in the winter. However, it’s not as easy as it seems for the professional golfer-cum-Stanford student who is just 20 years old.

The athlete was asked about the same during an interview at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. Answering the question, she decided to share her “challenging” experiences, all the while highlighting how worthwhile it is at the end of everything!

A demanding time for Rose Zhang

When asked about the biggest difficulty of being a pro and a student at the same time, Zhang was quick to reply, “It’s definitely a little bit challenging.” Adding on, she divulged how one has to “time manage well and really keep yourself more composed and disciplined in doing things” while attending the winter quarter at Stanford, a term where “everyone is really grinding.”

Continuing with her response, the 1-LPGA Tour champ, however, swiftly took to mention “springtime” and how that is when “it gets a little better.” While “you do lose a little bit of sleep, lose a little bit of rest,” she confessed how “it’s all worth it in the end” since she can be in tune like everyone else while studying and “grinding through school.”

Well, it appears she really did stick to her words back when she said she would go back to school during the 2023 AIG Women’s Open. In a press conference during the tournament, she was very excited to resume her studies in January, as she said, “In the winter I’ll be going back to the beautiful campus… being in that environment of going to class and hanging out with the team,” while imagining her life back at Stanford. But little did she know back then that it would be a challenging one.

However, while one cannot find out the finer details of her school life, aspects of her pro career can be made out by looking at the scorecard. She has been nothing short of exceptional in a field filled with winners.

The golfer was able to finish T7 after three days of play, scoring 6-under 210 with one round left to play. Moreover, she was able to do so after carding scores of 69, 71, and 70 on a par-72 course, the last of which came about following four birdies and a double bogey on Saturday.

She would be hoping for the top finish in a bid to rake in the trophy, all the while taking home a cut of the $1.5 million prize purse. If everything goes well and she can juggle her student-pro life successfully, then the community is surely in for a phenomenal performance by the golfer on Sunday.
