Lexi Thompson captures hearts on and off the course

Twenty-three years after the JCPenney Classic in 1999, the golf world is currently teeming with excitement surrounding the mixed-team golf tournament. And, participating in the same is Thompson, who is paired up with Rickie Fowler. Moreover, the LPGA Tour pro was able to pull off an ace during the second round of the event, the 11th one of her career.

Responding to the feat, the 28-year-old pointed out how it was “probably one of my(sic) highest” while recalling how she has “only had about 4 in competition with … a good amount of crowds.” And, the recent one at the par-3 16th hole at Tiburon Golf Club had many people around the tee box, making it “nice to high-five everybody and hear all the cheers.”

The Thompson-Fowler style of tribute

The 1X major champ wore hues of pink during the Saturday round. And, the professional did so in a bid to pay tribute to her mother and her battle with breast and uterine cancer. What’s more, her partner on the course also came out in similar colors as the duo took to duke it out against other teams.
