Christmas is here, and it comes bearing gifts! However, it seems the fans of the Saudi-backed league are not happy with the presents that are on the way. And now, TaylorMade appears to have taken the brunt of the damage in the community, as a few ardent followers of LIV Golf decided to poke the company after its latest social media update.
The equipment manufacturers decided to upload a post on the internet in a bid to welcome the Christmas season, along with a bunch of professionals in the game, including Nelly Korda, Charley Hull, and others. However, what followed was nothing short of an argument between the fans as one of them took a not-so-subtle jab at the same, all the while bringing the Greg Norman-led circuit into the mix!

The Golf Company shared a video on its Instagram handle as part of the festival while wishing a “Merry Christmas” to the golf community. However, the post that was made went ahead to surprise many in the community as it included the likes of Nelly Korda, and Scottie Scheffler, among other LPGA Tour and PGAT pros such as Collin Morikawa and Tommy Fleetwood.
The video showcased the group of athletes dressed up as elves for Santa Claus. Moreover, the father of Christmas was spotted monitoring his elite lineup of underlings made up of professional golfers. Surprisingly, the elves were busy with their job of readying the gifts, including the likes of golfing gear, and packing them in colorful presents. An amusing yet heartwarming sight to see!
However, a certain LIV Golf fan did not find it as amusing as the rest. What’s more, he went ahead to criticize the company and sarcastically reacted to how the manufacturer portrayed the LPGA stars, including Charley Hull, Nelly Korda, and Brooke Henderson, in the video since they did not have any pros from the Middle Eastern circuit. Women’s representation, as per him, had been substituted for the LIV stars’ appearance!

Well, that single comment did not sit well with many as they took to respond to the same. Even he wouldn’t have thought that the reaction would get this much attention!
No Christmas for LIV Golf?
The follower of the Middle Eastern circuit went ahead to comment, “No LIV guys? Had to use women instead?” in a bid to criticize how the company was using LPGA stars for the first time instead of supporting them early on. However, what transpired was nothing short of chaos, as many took to reply to the user, raking in a frenzy of responses under the post and the comment.

A follower expressed his admiration for the golf stars on the women’s circuit as he commented, “Brooke, Nelly, and Charley are awesome!” Following the same, the LIV Golf supporter went ahead to respond that he also feels the same: “I don’t disagree.” Well, who can disagree with the amount of skill they possess?
Another person was a bit more aggressive in their response, as he indirectly praised the skills showcased by the LPGA Tour pros. The fan went ahead to respond, “‘had’ to use women yet they’d mop you up on the course any day – show some respect” while the Saudi-backed league’s follower agreed to the same while explaining his initial comment, “They probably would. I guess I haven’t seen LPGA stars next to PGATour in commercials until LIV forced Taylormade’s hand. Before they’d use all men as far as I can remember.”

All the responses to the initial reaction were countered to showcase the importance of LIV Golf. And this happened yet again as another person responded, “They used 3 of the most recognizable women in the game,” to which the OP reacted as well, commenting, “Isn’t it great? When’s the last time they mixed in LPGA stars? Not before LIV was a thing as far as I can remember.”
Well, this time around, a person supported the LIV Golf fan’s claim, or at least a part of it. The supporters pointed out how the company had never used women golfers, crediting the same mentality as one that can lead to the sport’s downfall: “LPGA women should have always been included. TM has a huge stable and made a choice to never highlight their LPGA talent. They never “had” to use women, they always chose not to. This mentality is why the game still hasn’t grown to its potential.”
And, finally, a certain fan was all praise for the LPGA Tour as he expressed his opinion on how they are much better than their men’s counterparts. However, he did not forget to take a jab at the Saudi-backed league while doing so! “or, HIT TAKE, oh look they finally gave these talented women the attention they deserve. No question the LPGA product is better than the PGA Tour or LIV (which I find unwatchable).”
