It is her 6th victory in 2024. Nelly Korda managed to bag yet another win at the recently ended Mizuho Americas Open, all thanks to her amazing gameplay which helped her win the event by a single stroke. But it looks like she wasn’t able to do that alone. Enter her parents who were also Tennis stars – Petr Korda and Regina Rajchrtova.

The 25-year-old was spotted in an interview after her victory at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey. Korda was asked about the effect her athletic parents had on her success on and off the course to which she was quick to agree all the while divulging one of the secrets behind her wins in 2024.

“For sure,” agreed the LPGA Tour pro to the question before adding how all three Korda siblings wouldn’t have reached where they were without them; “all three of us say that without their mentorship and guidance and knowledge, we wouldn’t be where we are today. That is something that we really cherish and we know is very, very valuable.” While Jessica Korda oldest has a total of 6 LPGA Tour wins, Nelly Korda has 14, including two majors, with Sebastian Korda boasting a career-high rank of No.28 on the ATP Tour.

The 2024 Chevron Championship winner’s father, meanwhile, helps her even now. She disclosed, “My dad still actually does my schedule to this day. Like he’s very, very involved with the scheduling of my entire year and how much time I have off and what I’m doing off the golf course.” Petr Korda’s help, this year, seems to have been vital which helped the woman athlete claim six wins from her eight starts, five of which were consecutive.

She didn’t stop there. Korda was extremely grateful for their efforts as well as the amount of work they put in for the golfer. She then went ahead to divulge how the two tennis stars were in New Jersey for the tournament. “They were out here this week. I love having them out. All three of us are just grateful to have them in our corner.”

The athlete was, as a result, registered a score of 14-under 274 with the figures 70-68-65-71 over the four rounds.

She had, earlier, with a win from the Chevron Championship marked her name in the annals of golf history by equalling Nancy Lopez’s and Annika Sorenstam’s record of 5 consecutive wins on Tour. Although she wasn’t able to win her sixth straight start at the Cognizant Founders Cup, Korda was still able to prove her dominant gameplay on the greens with the latest triumph. Her parents will surely be proud!
