However, the co-leaders will bag the spotlight coming into Sunday. Meanwhile, despite obvious competitiveness, the two have only pleasant praises for one another.

Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson Praise One Another

Both the golfers were interviewed post the Saturday round and there was one similarity; there was some genuine respect for the other. When Korda was asked how she’ll proceed in order to win and whether she’ll try to swing it harder, she replied negatively. She added that the two are pretty much the same in terms of distance.

Of Thompson, the 11-time winner on tour, she said, “She’s playing well. I heard she’s putting really well too. So, as I said, I think it’s probably going to take a low one to catch her… What she’s done in her career is amazing, specially at such a young age. You would think she’s so much older!”

Meanwhile, Thompson, an important figure for American golf, was asked her views on the young Korda. “It’s amazing what she’s accomplished,” she said. “Everybody knows how good the Korda sisters are as players and athletes. The whole family is. It’ll be a good final day. Looking forward to it. Hopefully we just make a lot of birdies out there.”
