Michell Wie West has always been a family person. She got married to the love of her life Jonnie West on August 10, 2019. They have two beautiful children together. Makenna Kamalei Yoona West was born on June 19, 2020, and Jagger Jerry YooJun West was born on October 19, 2024. She decided to retire from professional golf in May 2022, after playing one last event, which is the 2023 US Women’s Open.
Wie West wanted to be there for her daughter, and her family, hence the decision. She had already been struggling through several injuries, and well that did not change even when she gave birth. And according to the reports, she would rather spend more time with her daughter than in practicing and rehabilitation.
“At times, if I do play a lot of golf, I’m just in bed,” Wie West told Golfweek. “Or I can’t lift (Makenna) up, and that scared me.” Now that she is not playing full-time golf, she spends a lot of time with her two kids and loves every bit of it.

Michelle Wie West asks advice from the golf world for Rome
Michelle Wie West got Rome on October 29, 2023. While the dog has been a super healthy one, he started suffering a year later. Rome got cherry eyes, which means the third eyelid gland protrudes from the inside corner of the eye, resembling a cherry pit. She shared this discomfort with her followers, and asked, Any advice on getting rid of his cherry eye?” asked West. Needless to say, she soon got an answer from one of her fans. One of her 604K followers commented, “Surgery is about the only option, I believe.”
Whether it was bad luck or good luck, the fan’s reply turned out to be spot-on. The LPGA Tour veteran later shared in her story that the procedure was unavoidable: “We’re using steroid eye drops right now, but it’s not getting any better. The vet said surgery is the next step. Poor baby.”
