Despite being a gentleman’s support, golf can be very competitive. Golfers go up against each other at various tournaments to stay at the top of the leaderboard and to bring home the hefty winning prize money. However, the competitive spirit of the sport is always healthy wherein golfers often show true sportsmanship feeling every now and then. 

At the $1.75 million event in Cincinnati, LPGA golfers are competing against each other, and after the first two rounds, the leaderboard looks quite interesting. Rose Zhang, the LPGA phenom, is hailing the leaderboard star aka ‘Money’ for her stunning game. Let us find out what is Zhang saying about her fellow golfer. 

Rose Zhang heaps praises of her fellow golfer

After the second round of the Kroger Queen City Championship, LPGA phenom Zhang is tied for the 14th position along with 4 other golfers, whereas Chien Peiyun, who is known as ‘Money’ amongst her fans, is at the top. 

After the tournament’s second round was over, Zhang sat with the media wherein she answered quite a few questions. A couple of questions were about her relationship with Peiyun and how she feels about seeing her succeed. The Stanford Star as always with a smile on her face appreciated her fellow golfer.

The 20-year-old regarded Peiyun as someone who is very experienced and has offered a lot of help and tips to her, “I have received a lot of great advice from her, too.” Talking about how Zhang feels about seeing her compatriot succeed, she said, “It’s amazing. I’m so happy for her.”

LPGA phenom’s kind words towards Money just did not stop there. She praised her for her consistent hard work, and positive attitude toward life and the game. Referring to her as a “grinder at heart,”  Zhang said, “She’s always been one to be positive and optimistic about her game no matter what.”

The LPGA star did not hesitate to praise her friend and competitor in the tense competition, and also expressed her joy to see Peiyun’s optimism and hard work finally paying off, “To see it pay off, I think it’s really admirable.” Zhang and Chein Peiyun’s relationship goes back as the duo did not just play together for the first time at the LPGA Tour. 

How does Zhang know Chein Peiyun? 

The 32-year-old golfer is much more experienced with the clubs the Zhang. Peiyun has been playing on the LPGA Tour for quite a lot of years, and 2017 was her rookie year. She started playing golf at the age of 12 years. 

The Standford star revealed that during her amateur time, she played a few rounds with ‘Money’ on the Epson Tour which was known as the Symetra Tour at the time. She also revealed the LPGA duo also played a fun practice round in San Diego once as well.  Zhang claimed that the two of them are actually “pretty close.”
