The third major of women’s golf is set to kick off at the Sahalee Country Club on Thursday, June 20, and continue till Sunday. Although the stage is undoubtedly set for the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship to witness top golfers duke it out on the course, one crucial aspect remains. Enter the weather conditions at Sammamish, Washington.

The field of 156 golfers, including the likes of Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson, and others, would surely hope to play out the four days without a hitch so that they can clinch the title as well as the prize money. Thursday at Sahalee, as per The Weather Channel reports, will see cloudy skies at 54% humidity, with the temperature reaching as high as 80°F in the day while reaching as low as 52°F at night. There would only be a very small chance of a rain shower (5%) with a lot of mixed sunshine and clouds, along with winds blowing from north to northwest at 5–10 mph.

Friday at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, meanwhile, will see a slightly hotter day with the temperature reaching 81°F in the mornings. The chances of rain, at the same time, will be similar to Thursday at 5% while boasting a humidity of 52%.

The finale will be the coldest day out of all four rounds, with the temperature reaching only as high as 65°F in the morning with a 24% chance of rain at Sahalee Country Club. The sky will be mostly covered by clouds, with winds blowing from south to west at 7 mph. The humidity, meanwhile, will also increase as opposed to the other three rounds, at 67%.

If the course does witness rain on the final day, then the tournament will either have to be pushed off to Monday or be called off at 54 holes, just like the LPGA Tour Championship back in 2016. The officials had to call off the season-ending event’s third round due to heavy rains. The play had then resumed on Sunday, with the rest of the field teeing off at 8 a.m. The fans and the players would surely not want such an instance to happen again and would hope to finish the major without any hitch.
