The 2022 JTBC Palos Verdes Championship is the first time 16-year-old Anna Davis is playing on the LPGA Tour. Although she stumbled along the way, the young golfer has made the cut after the two rounds.

Davis earned her chance to play on the Tour as a sponsor exemption. The 16-year-old impressed everyone after her first rounds at the Championship with a score of 71.

However, she couldn’t continue her best game in the second round until the 15th hole. She had scored a 4-over after the first 15 holes with five bogeys. Notably, she had only one birdie up until then.
Although young, Davis didn’t lose her focus and tried her best till the very end. On the par-5 16th hole, the 16-year-old made a 40-footer for the eagle. She followed it with a birdie on the 17th hole. By the end of the second round, Anna Davis secured a score of 72.
Davis had an overall score of 1-over par to advance to the final two rounds and tied for the 52nd position with 14 other golfers.

Notably, the young golfer is contending in a field that consists of the current world no. 1 Jin Young Ko of Korea. She currently ranks at T2 with three other competitors. Moreover, the Australian golfer Hannah Green leads the board after round two with her 9-under par.
It is hard to make it to the top. However, it is not impossible for Davis since she has already made the cut with an impressive performance at the last couple of holes.

“I didn’t expect to play an LPGA event at such a young age, so it’s very exciting,” Davis said. “It’s been one of my goals for a really long time.”
Davis has been the talk of the town, ever since she won the 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur event. She won the three-round event with an overall score of 3-under par. Not to mention, the 16-year-old is the youngest to win the event.

Furthermore, Davis has already won the Girls Junior PGA Championship, through which she had earned her invitation to the ANWA tournament. She has also taken part in the 2021 U. S. Junior Solheim Cup team. Remarkably, she also finished in the third position at the American Junior Golf Association’s Tournament of Champions.
