After the thrill of Master, the focus of the golf world has shifted towards the LPGA Tour’s first major of the season at the Chevron Championship. The prestigious Venue Club at Carlton Woods in Texas is ready to welcome 132 of the greatest female golfers in the world who will compete for the coveted Dinah Shore Trophy and $5.2 million purse from April 17th to 21st.

This year’s competition includes golf rockstar Nelly Korda, defending champion Lilia Vu, and others, which makes this event even more exciting. However, it sparks intrigue about the rising champion Alison Lee being a part of this, who was struggling to make a return to her form.

Yes! Alison Lee will be there to battle against the full field of champions for the Dinah Shore Trophy. Lee played her first event this year in Singapore at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, where she finished tied for 51st. The LPGA star currently ranks number 14 in the official world golf rankings. She ended up at T108 after round 2, failing to make the cut in last year’s Chevron Championship, and played a round of 77 in the second round. This year’s competition may get harsh for Lee, playing in a field where many are running in their best form.

Is Alison Lee still struggling to find her form?

During the post-round 1 interview of the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, Alison Lee admitted to the stress she faced in making a return to her form. The 2-time LET winner revealed that during a ski trip with her boyfriend, his rescue dog bit her hand. She explained, “I got that dog bite, and I had to take like another two weeks off without touching my clubs. I felt like I had to start all over again.” at the HSBC event in February. “I did feel really rushed to try and get my game back into form,” she said.

As a result, Lee couldn’t perform as she planned at the HSBC Women’s World Championship. Alison Lee struggled immensely with her fresh injury in the opening round. She finished with a score of 9 over 79 and was among the only players to shoot that high. However, to overcome this trouble, Lee practiced her swings very hard. The LPGA Tour star made a fierce comeback at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship. Certainly, she was practicing harder for her next game and eyeing the first LPGA win.

Will she be able to capitalize on grabbing it, though? Only time will tell.
