Nelly Korda’s energy is truly contagious. Her cheerful nature lightens up the mood of everyone around her. However, like seasons of a year, a person’s mood cannot remain the same all the time, and the same goes for the LPGA sensation.
However, the overly optimistic attitude of her caddy since 2018, Jason McDede, sometimes doesn’t match Korda’s “Debbie Downer.” This duo truly balances one another, but her caddy’s exhilarating attitude towards life and the game sometimes does not align with the 25-year-old’s star. But is she complaining?

Well, Nelly Korda was surely complaining about the positive person she has been blessed with, but it’s nothing serious, we assure you. The famous professional golfer, in a very fun and playful manner, said that how Jason McDede chooses to remain positive when her guts are wrenching with negative thoughts makes her want to punch him.
But haven’t we all had a friend who we dearly love but who is slightly annoying because they are always sunshine and rainbows? Well, Jason McDede is that friend for the 8-time LPGA Tour winner, and just like all our slightly annoyed but still full of love readers, she adores him.
In a recent discussion with GOLF’s Claire Rogers at an episode of The Scoop, Nelly Korda said, “It’s like yin and yang. He’s such a positive person that sometimes I’m like, ‘Gosh, you’re so positive. I want to punch you.’ As golfers, no one’s ever positive all the time. Sometimes you just have to be a little bit of a Debbie Downer…and he’s always sunshine and rainbows. “
The famous 1x major winner even compared their bond to that of yin and yang, indicating how they balance one another. But McDede was not there for a couple of major events last year because he had a beautiful baby with his wife and famous German professional golfer, Caroline Masson. Apparently, McDede’s absence left Korda “distraught.”
How did Jason McDede’s absence affect the 25-year-old?

In her words, “Honestly, I couldn’t imagine playing any tournament without him. He was on paternity leave for a little bit this year. He didn’t caddy for me for like three events, and I was so distraught from it. I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I appreciate you so much more now.”
