Nelly Korda is among the most valuable and highly skilled golfers on the circuit. Her career achievements are a testament to her enviable prowess with a golf club. However, of late, many questions have arisen about her expertise due to this season’s performance.

As the 2022–23 season is drawing to an end, the number of close calls the former World No. 1 has had on the course has left fans wondering if her fall from grace is affecting the golfer’s game. And having seen her suffer heartbreak after heartbreak, the big question that now remains is whether she will once again take to the course this week on the LPGA Tour.

The Olympic gold medalist has experienced tremendous setbacks in the ongoing season of the LPGA Tour. She missed several events pertaining to medical issues. Korda hasn’t achieved any significant titles this year, although she did earn the individual trophy at the Aramco Team Series on the LET circuit.

She missed the cut at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the Cognizant Founders Cup earlier. She finished in the top 10 of seven events played on the LPGA Tour, achieving 2nd and 3rd places on occasion. However, her no-win drought continued until she lost her crown at the final major of the season, where she finished tied for 11th.

This week, the LPGA cover girl is on the 2023 Portland Classic Field as one of 144 players fighting for the title. However, her hopes of winning are dwindling, especially since she lost her World No. 1 ranking yet again after a disheartening finish at the AIG Women’s Open. Appearing in the $2.5 million tournament, Korda is playing alongside Lilia Vu, to whom she lost her crown.

The younger Korda sister is playing Columbia Edgewater Country Club along with 36 other players in the top 50 of the Rolex Rankings. She also made it on the US team for the Solheim Cup. Regardless, her struggles with almost tasting victory and then watching it slip through her fingers continue.

The LPGA star had too many heartbreaks over the course of the 2022–23 season; nevertheless, she remains motivated to fight for her well-deserved wins. But she still has a couple of opportunities left to secure a win this season and break the year-long streak of close calls, and with her strong set of teammates, that win may just come at the international face-off!

For the 2022–23 season, Nelly Korda is among the 12 players to play in the Solheim Cup for the United States alongside current World No. 1 Lilia Vu. The team will also witness rising star Allisen Corpuz make her Solheim Cup debut. Ally Ewing, Danielle Kang, Jennifer Kupcho, and six other prominent LPGA stars will be competing for their patriotic dreams against Team Europe.
