The 2023 Freed Group Women’s Scottish Open has returned this week at the Dundonald Links in the UK. The event is being organized by FREED GROUP in partnership with LET and LPGA. The Hong Kong-based tech company, which specializes in Marketplace Enablement and Enterprise Application solutions, will be the title sponsor of the event in 2023.
Many top golfers are getting ready to take part in the championship. The 72-hole tournament will have a 36-hole cut as the four-round event takes place from August 3. The event is all set to kick off this week as the tournament will see a field of 156 players take on the golf course. There will be a cut after the second round after which the top 70 players and ties will move on to play on the weekends. The tournament will see many top players such as Ariya Jutanugarn, Mi Hyang Lee, and Lilia Vu, headlining it.
Celine Boutier is a fan favorite to win the event by many on account of her recent win at the Amundi Evian Championship. Ayaka Furue was able to emerge victorious last year by finishing ahead of the French player by three shots and she will be defending her title this year.

The winner of the tournament will be awarded 500 points for the Race to the CME Globe along with the title and the trophy. The top 70 players in the standings will be able to take part in the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship. Along with the trophy and the title, The Scottish Women’s Open has been giving away a substantial amount of money to the winner. The total prize purse and the winner’s reward remain the same as last year. In 2022, the event had a total purse of $2 million. Ayaka Furue, who won the tournament last year took home her cut of $300,000, and the same will be offered to the winner this year as well. The runner-up will be awarded $180,000
