Nelly Korda can dazzle her fans both on and off the course. She has been in scintillating form on the greens. But the world No. 1 turned many heads once again with her exquisite beauty at the 2024 Met Gala. It was the first time that she walked the steps of the Met and the experience must have been quite nerve-wracking for the fourteen-time LPGA Tour pro. However, she did have a gala time at the New York-based event.

The 25-year-old professional recounted the Met Gala debut experience she had in her iconic red Oscar de la Renta gown. When asked about the same in a press conference ahead of the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open, she pointed out the coolest part of the whole experience and the most shocking aspect of the show for her!

“It was the ultimate people-watching fest,” recalled the 2024 Chevron Championship winner when asked about the fundraiser. She divulged that people watched her and the various celebrities walk the red carpet. Korda, meanwhile, didn’t forget to express her awe for Ed Sheeran, who was spotted wearing Stella McCartney: “Just standing in line with all these celebrities that you listen to, you watch on TV. I mean, Ed Sheeran walked past me.”

That was not the most shocking part for the 2-time major champ. It was her height that surprised her. “It was more shocking how tall I was compared to everyone,” said the 5-foot-10-inch Nelly Korda before recollecting the funny experience. “I was in heels, though, too. They were all saying it was really funny.” Even the LPGA Tour Pro couldn’t help herself from whipping out her funny bone while making use of her height: “We were like in a tent, and there was no air conditioning and it was really hot and everyone was like sweating. And I was like, oh, the air’s fine up here, guys.”

Back in 2013, Tiger Woods had walked the red carpet along with his then-girlfriend Lindsey Vonn. Thus, the 14-time LPGA Tour pro was not the first golfer to attend the fundraising event. But it sure was her first time, which she thoroughly enjoyed before comically hinting at how the next time it wouldn’t be the same; “It was really cool…it was really neat. I definitely would love to go back one day and actually experience the entire experience. But it was my first time ever walking the red carpet, and I think it’s just going to be downhill from here, yeah.”

The pro’s appearance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City surprised the community quite a bit. Even Paige Spiranac, the golfing queen, was full of praise for the athlete who put on a new version of Nelly Korda.

“She looks amazing,” exclaimed the 31-year-old diva after expressing how much she enjoyed watching her at the event. “Love seeing Nelly at the Met Gala!” Spiranac sure has great eyes since it was she who complimented the athlete’s looks and beauty back in 2023 in her podcast: “I think Nelly Korda is the full package… She’s beautiful… incredible. And all of her editorial pictures that she does, she can do high fashion, she can also do just, you know, her fun, really candid pictures that she does on Instagram.”

Coming back to Korda’s Met Gala appearance, the golfer had attended the event as a guest of Casey Wasserman (the CEO and Chairperson of Wasserman). She complimented her Oscar de la Renta, which followed the year’s theme of ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, with silver jewelry and a classy pair of heels that accentuated her height.
