The Portland Classic was a tournament of ferocious competition and zealous performances. And surely the winner of the event, Chanettee Wannasaen, exuded a clear example of the same. As a young golfer, she executed her plans with utter confidence and sheer belief in her gameplay.

Apart from the younger 19-year-old’s exceptional skills, the event witnessed some senior players grab top spots as well. However, apart from her performance, it was the way she delved into the details of her past week’s learnings that grabbed the attention of the media. Megan Khang’s recent performances have been a display of great character and focus on the field. While she did not grab the title at the Portland Classic, her astonishingly good shots led her to the 6th spot on the leaderboard of the tournament.

However, despite her dominant near-miss, Khang wasn’t shy about applauding her fellow LPGA Tour player during the post-tournament press meet. Acting as a true sportsman, Megan Khang said, “Chanettee played amazing”. For the golf icon to hit 9 under par on a Sunday was “pretty cool,” which showcased the hold the Thai rookie had on the game.

Further congratulating the 19-year-old, Khang opened up about how hard it is to win on these greens in Portland. In fact, the 25-year-old called the course a tough one to hit shots on. Despite her statement concerning the field, Khang was able to finish in sixth position alone, which was a brilliant display of resilience.
