It was the Tuesday before the second major of the women’s sport. The LPGA Tour pros were practicing their games ahead of the start of the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open. Out came Charley Hull with a cigarette hanging from her mouth as she went on to sign autographs for the fans who came to watch. A man, reasonably so, exclaimed, “That’s awesome. John Daly-esque.” Other fans also took to join as they dubbed her as the senior pro’s sister, all the while alluding to the golfer’s personality. Come Sunday, however, she was spotted making a candid revelation regarding her disposition regardless of public opinion.

The athlete was spotted in an interview following the final round of the major championship at Lancaster Country Club. The Englishwoman, during the presser, went ahead to divulge her friends’ opinion of herself while commenting on her own personality off-course; “Literally all my friends always say I should have a TV show with what goes on in my life. If you think I’ve got a lot of personality on the golf course, you should see what my life is like at home.”

The 28-year-old had turned a lot of heads when the spectators spotted her rigging a cig while signing autographs. Although many had adverse reactions, many people termed her as nothing short of a ‘baddie’ while being enthralled by her personality. “It is quite funny,” admitted Charley Hull before expressing how even she doesn’t know what will happen next in a carefree attitude, “You don’t know what’s coming out of my mouth next. I don’t know what’s coming out of my mouth next. It’s one of them things. I’m just me. I’m not going to change for the world. I’ll just be me, and people will either like it or lump it.”

The athlete also took to react to her being called the PGA Tour Champion Pro’s sister. “I find it quite funny, because I actually do go to the gym and I’m a very healthy person,” responded Hull before adding how she only smokes and hardly drinks. The LPGA Tour professional also didn’t shy away from acknowledging how she hated smoking when she was young before recounting her vaping years. “I was a bit stressed last year and I just kind of vaped, and I wanted to stop vaping, and even though smoking is not better than vaping, it’s just you can vape indoors all the time.”

Fast forward a year and now she is currently into smoking, especially when it’s a slow round. Her doing so on the course has led people to paint a certain picture regarding her personality and become attracted to it. It even caused her to receive a dinner invitation from a fan while on the grounds.

An ardent follower, apparently, tried to make a move on her during the major championship. “Someone said ‘I’ve dropped something’,” recounted Charley Hull, “and then handed their phone number on a piece of paper in my hand.” The fan then reportedly told her, “Here’s my number. Text me so we can figure out where I’m taking you out for dinner tonight.”

The English athlete disclosed how funny it was while narrating the experience she had on the course. She wasn’t the only one who found it amusing, as many in the community also took to respond to the same with some even attributing the ‘move’ due to her personality. Well, Hull sure has earned a lot of fans this time around!
