While the men have their eyes set on conquering the title for the first time since 1993 away from home, female golfers also aim to dominate the Spanish soil in a month’s time.
Meanwhile, to pay homage to these LPGA icons who have shown resilience on various greens, the LPGA Tour uploaded a special post for its players. In a modern-day style, the tour announced the names of the American team. However, while the action appeared to be a method of acclamation, the golf world hardly appeared to be impressed by these actions of the league.

The names revealed under the USA team banner for the Solheim Cup have been a simple prognosis for anyone witnessing the gameplay. From the likes of the LPGA cover girl Nelly Korda to the rising prodigy Rose Zhang, the American team looks all set for the tournament.
The recent Instagram posts of the LPGA Tour honored all those players who made it into their country’s team. With the captions “Solheim Sketches“, the smiling pictures of all the 12 members made for an interesting announcement. However, the updated post led us back to how all the female golfers made it to the distinguished positions.
The three categories of selection into the team saw tough competition. While seven players made it into the US team through the Solheim Cup points, two more entered by holding the top positions on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. The first category included Lilia Vu, Nelly Korda, and Allisen Corpuz as the top three. Further, the list became more solidified with Megan Khang, Jennifer Kupcho, Danielle Kang, and Andrea Lee.
All 7 golfers have had a tremendous season on the greens, displaying some noteworthy performances. While the rank 1 holder Vu has three wins this year, marking her strong lead at 536.50 points, the second-ranked Korda has some tremendous records to show on the field as well. Following the fulfillment of more than half of the team joined the top Lexi Thompson and Rose Zhang.

The topmost eminent presence to the strength of the US team is captain Stacy Lewis’ three remaining picks. She included the 24-year-old Angel Yin, the veteran star Ally Ewing, and Solheim Cup debutant Cheyenne Knight.

Some of the reactions included: “Honestly that’s a tad creepy”, “Oh no, please use real pictures instead”, and “Looks nothing like them.“ Others added a touch of hilarity to their criticism of the post. They wrote, “Great org and great players but problematic post”, “Sorry, but did yall get the trial version of the app because this ain’t it“, and “Whoever gave the ok to post this…”
While disapproval was the major theme against the post, it appeared that fans were having a laugh about the way the players were drawn. Most of them believed that there was an obvious room for improvement. One of the users light-heartedly commented, “I can draw better than that…”
