The LPGA Hall of Famer’s passion for the sport extends far beyond a club in her hand and teeing off at a course. Off the court, she’s done everything in her power to promote the sport and make it more accessible to youngsters, especially women who yearn to play. Now once more, she is embarking on a journey to help even more youngsters with her new tie-up with the Women’s All Pro Tour!

Sorenstam just hours ago joined hands with the Tour in an attempt to bring it more recognition and exposure. The Tour will now be called the Annika Women’s All Pro Tour. The news, of course, garnered attention from all around the globe and caught the eyes of Hailey Rae Ostrom too. The fast-growing golf influencer took to Instagram and posted a story expressing her pride for Sorenstam.

“This is Amazing for the game! Annika @annikas59 remains the biggest ambassador for women’s golf, leaving yet another mark on our sport,” she wrote. “Annika is making sure her legacy far surpasses her skill on the course, but rather her efforts to change the game for women.”

With the LPGA star’s backing, the Women’s All Pro Tour, which was previously called the Path of the Pros, will undoubtedly scale heights unseen. After all, it now has Sorenstam’s name and massive legacy attached to it! But what exactly does the professional tour aim to accomplish with its new partnership with the 10-time major winner? Well, it has a lot to do with the LPGA Tour itself!

The Annika Women’s All Pro Tour sets sight on the LPGA Tour

The WAPT will begin with its new name when the 2024 season begins in February next year. Adding Annika’s name to the league is the Tour’s way of celebrating all the LPAG Star has accomplished in her career, and henceforth the Tour will be a tribute to the golfer’s contribution to the sport.

The fit of the two partners couldn’t be more perfect since the WAPT’s mission to help the next generation of women build a future in the sport and eventually make their way to the LPGA tour aligns with Sorenstam’s ANNIKA foundation’s mission of helping young women find their place in the sport. As the two sides now tie up, they could undoubtedly bring unbelievable change to women’s golf!
