The fourth major of the women’s golf season is over, and history has been made. Celine Boutier became the first French golfer to win the Amundi Evian Championship. Before her, no French golfer had won the tournament or even come as close as being a runner-up. But Boutier just wrote history, and that too very humbly. With Celine’s win, Brooke Henderson was unable to defend her title, but she doesn’t seem to be very disappointed about it.

Brooke Henderson is not disappointed with the Amundi Evian Championship results
In 2022, Henderson won in Frace, and this year, she was on full throttle to defend her title. But fate had other plans for her. The Frenchwoman, Celine Boutier, emerged victorious with a final lead of six strokes. Henderson was in second place when the major was concluded with a final score of 8 under. Although she could not defend her title successfully, she was not sad about it.
As the tournament ended and Henderson sat down with the media, she was asked how she felt about the course. She said that she feels that there is a good strategy that golfers have for this course, and it feels exciting. The 1X major winner was excited about the T2 position on the leaderboard. Commenting on this year’s runner-up stance, she said, “To finish, I think T2 this year is amazing after coming off the win last year.” Henderson was undoubtedly really proud of her performance.
She also praised the 2023 Amundi Championship winner and expressed her joy over the French star’s victory. She said, “Celine played amazing, so really happy for her too.” Furthermore, the golfer praised the golf course she competed on and appreciated the country she was in, singling high praises for the French vibe!

Henderson loves coming to France
In the post-round conference, an interviewer praised her performance and asked her about her fondness for the course. She said that she absolutely loves coming to France. She appreciates the French people and their passion for the sport. The 25-year-old also appreciated the golf course and said, “This course is so beautiful and a lot of fun to play.”
