Lindsey Weaver-Wright is seven months pregnant, and that did not stop her from playing in the Ascendant Championship this week. Not only did she take part in it, but she performed quite well, too. Although she missed the top-10 mark, she comfortably finished within the top-20 positions.

A shot from her final round in the event is online now, and it is dropping people’s jaws all over. The precision and the finesse with which Weaver carried the shot was nothing less than brilliant. While admiring the shot, our minds naturally jump to Jessica Korda’s recent withdrawal from an event because of pregnancy!

A recent video on the LPGA Tour’s Instagram handle shows Lindsey Weaver’s jaw-dropping shot to the hole ahead of her pregnancy break. The 30-year-old golfer is seven months pregnant, and this was her last tournament before she went on maternity leave. The caption on the video read “That’s one way to start maternity leave early! @lindseyweaver_ holes out on her final hole of her final tournament of the season at 7 months pregnant!”

She shot it from quite a distance and hit it hard and high. The ball landed reasonably close to the hole and wriggled its way into it. The fact this was at the very last hole of the final round, of her last tournament before the break, added to the loud cheer from onlookers around.

The spectacle of that shot reminds us of the Jessica Korda situation immediately. Korda was paired up with Rickie Fowler to play in the Grand Thornton Invitational. It’s a PGA and LPGA team event, where mixed pairs compete together as teams.

However, Korda withdrew from the event citing her pregnancy. While it’s understandable that playing in her condition can be demanding, fans were left disappointed.

Coming back to Weaver, this eagle shot is special for another reason as well. Weaver had suffered a bogey at the same hole in the previous round. And to come back with an eagle on it was quite a feat. She finished with a shared 16th position after her final round, with a score of 2-under-par.

Fans celebrated her grand finish and were amazed at her willpower and strength. They didn’t hold back on their compliments at all. And the commentator did his bit to inject some humor into the mix as well.

The comment section and commentary box have fun with Weaver’s insane eagle

The comments praised the pregnant golfer’s precise shot and her persistence to play so far into the pregnancy. However, some of them hogged a bit of attention with his timely wit.

One user made an interesting suggestion to the golfer. “If that kid ain’t named “deuce” …” That’s a ‘unique’ choice for a baby’s name. Hope Weaver doesn’t approve!

“Honestly, a man could never.” Well, if stating the obvious was a competition, then this commenter would win the title for sure.

The commentator did say this with some emphasis and it sounded catchy. “Very much with child.”

Another comment pointed out the predictable but hilarious joke by the commentator. “The “and she delivers” commentary is gold.” Gold, indeed!

“She delivers” …how long did you have that one qued? This netizen spotted the anticipation of the commentator to land that joke as soon as the ball disappeared and we couldn’t stop laughing.

A user pointed out how another pregnant golfer amused the audience with her prowess. “@lindseyweaver_ and @amyolsongolf both had some amazing shots while very pregnant!” Amy Olson also played until she was seven months pregnant, which was in June this year.

“Bravo ! Wonderful generational family story to share.” Actually yes! This would make for a great bedtime story for her kids and grandkids.
