While there are many big names participating in the event, the top of the leaderboard is being headed by the lesser known players like Jang Hyo-joon and Chanettee Wannasaen. In fact, some of the renowned golfers have even failed to make the cut after the first two days of the $1.5million event.

One such star is none other than Rose Zhang. This will be the second cut missed by the rising prodigy this season after she turned pro. Despite these hiccups in her professional journey, Zhang has portrayed a resilient and determined front. One of the prime examples of the same are her amateur stats, which has even allowed the golfer to be associated with Tiger Woods. While Zhang recently suffered a setback on the greens, her outlook for deriving confidence seem right directioned. Through an hours old Instagram story, the golfer was seen reposting one of her greatest achievements. Originally uploaded by Carmel Cup Golf, the picture represented her mighty gameplay on the famous Pebble Beach Course while merely being a college student.

Even her then represented college, Stanfard, had uploaded the post in their story, which got eventually shared on the golf star’s page. With the story captioned “The Mems”, the 20-year-old seemed to have been reminded of one of her greatest accomplishments. Astonishingly, Rose Zhang and her fellow college mates were the first female golfers among students to play on the mighty greens.

The upload reflected the score of the young golfer back in 2022, setting the new record for women of round 63. The official account of the Caramel Cup boasted on being the host to encounter both set records at the Pebble Beach Golf Links for men and women. This famous achievement even still gets displayed at the Pebble Beach Shop, with Rose Zhang and Hurly Long’s names shining brightly on the display.
