There are many golfers who have their own foundations to help popularize the sport and nudge the young talent in the right direction, and spouses of a handful of golfers are doing their share of good deeds in helping the world become a better place for everyone.
It is indeed always a pleasure to witness the young athletes come forward to do their part and help the people in whatever way they can. Recently, a young star of the LPGA Tour has come forward reminiscing about her golden days in Maui that shaped her future and declared her part to help the sufferers of the disastrous Hawaiian wildfire.
1X major champion comes forward to play for a cause

Allyson Corpuz has decided to follow in the footsteps of 2X major champion, Collin Morikawa. The PGAT pro shared the way for the golfers to come forward and help the sufferers of the Lahaina fire accident by donating a certain amount for every birdie they make. And it appears that Morikawa has inspired Corpuz immensely.
The 2023 US Women’s Open winner took to her Instagram to share that she will be donating $200 for every birdie she makes for her next three events. The golfer shared that her pledge will start from her competition at the CPKC Women’s Open. Corpuz’s contribution will go to the Maui Strong Fund organized by the Hawaii Community Foundation.
The 24-year-old shared that it has been “heartbreaking” to see the pictures of the devastation and to read about it. Sharing about the role Maui played in her life, she said that she has played a lot of junior golf there growing up and those junior golf experiences have shaped her to be a better golfer, “I am where I am today because of these experiences.”

There are some golfers who have shared their part, and there are a few who have not come forward with their contribution but are doing their part discretely.

Golfers such as Michelle Wie West, and Collin Morikawa have come forward to do their part in the Lahaina disaster. Morikawa said during the FedEx St. Jude Championship that he will donate $1000 for every birdie he makes, and it will go to the charities namely, Maui United Way and World Central Kitchen. He also expressed that he is trying his best to raise awareness about the unfortunate incident.
The retired professional, Wie West also came forward to express her deeply profound sadness over the Hawaii wildfire incident. She took to her Instagram to raise awareness about the direness of the situation, and to send prayers for all the people who have suffered in the disaster.
