During the AIG Women’s Open this year in August, Lilia Vu overtook Nelly Korda to sit at the World No.1 position. During that event, she defeated the home favorite Charley Hull and carded a blistering 67 in the final round, further winning the title.
Vu called it a crazy feat to achieve. No one, not even her, thought that she could maintain the position at the beginning of the year. And a similar fate happened with China’s Ruoning Yin. While everybody was least expecting it, she overtook Lilia Vu.
