The Open Championship, the final major event of the 2022-23 season in men’s golf, has concluded. Now it is time for one of the Major Championships in women’s golf: The Amundi Evian Championship. The event is scheduled to begin this Thursday, July 27th at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France.
It is one of the most anticipated events for LPGA and LET enthusiasts, especially since it is recognized by the Ladies Professional Golfers Association as a major championship. This edition, a lot of esteemed golfers are expected on the course to claim one of the most prestigious titles on the circuit.

It was her maiden title and she achieved it in one of the five major championships of women’s golf. The US Women’s Open saw Corpuz emerge victorious with a 279 and a 3-shot lead on Charley Hull.
That spectacular performance at one of the toughest golf courses didn’t just earn Allisen Corpuz $2 million in prize money but also an entry into the Evian Championship event. The Hawaiian dame is among the top 50 on the Rolex ranks as well.

The 132 female golfers hail from 39 countries. The roster includes the top 5 players on the Rolex ranks, i.e., Jin Young Ko, Olympic Gold Medalist Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, along with the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Winner Ruoning Yin and The Chevron Championship winner Lilia Vu. Corpuz, who is ranked 6th, will also be joining the field.

Defending champion Angela Stanford along with the top 10 from last year’s championship will also be joining. Major Championship winners from the last 5 years have earned their spots at the event as well, and so have the LPGA Tour winners and the players on the Order of Merit of the LET. 4 Amateur champions have also earned exemptions into the prestigious event.
