Nelly Korda has been one of the most talked about golfers in the past few months. It was after she gave tough competition to her top rival Jin Young Ko for the Player of the Year in 2021. However, as much as the rivalry between the two was hyped, it turned out that Korda had no problem with it.

Nelly Korda to continue rivalry with Jin Young Ko

World No.1, Jin Young Ko, sees no one in her competition other than American professional golfer, Nelly Korda. Korda has been on the second rank worldwide and has posed a serious threat to Ko in numerous tournaments. However, more than their actual rivalry, it was the fans who hyped things up a notch.

But to everyone’s surprise, Ko once opened up about how she would love it if the rivalry continued to exist. After losing to Ko in the final round of the tournament in 2021, Korda is back this year to fight back. “I think it’s a good rivalry,” the golfer said“It’s nice to kind of, in a sense, feed off someone”.

However, during her interview, she also clarified that the rivalry was for the game. In fact, the two are friends off the field and often talk to each other. “We’re still good friends. We chit-chat here and there,” Korda said. Despite being the biggest competitors, the two also combined for nine victories in their careers.

Will Korda be interested to play in the reported LIV Golf women’s league?

Nelly Korda was in an interview alongside Lexi Thompson for the Aramco Team Series event. The golfer was asked about her stance regarding the rumored LIV Golf women’s league, and if she would participate in it. In her response, Korda said“I mean, right now that’s kind of speculation. As a player I don’t really know and that is not in my hands. That’s for the Tour commissioner,”.

She also talked about being fully focused on the LPGA Tour and said that the LIV Golf women’s league was mere speculation. “I’m focusing on the LPGA Tour…all the LIV stuff going on, that’s all speculation and I don’t focus on speculations.”. However, Thompson hinted that talks were going on about the same on higher levels. But nothing was made official to the players or the fans as of now.
