Jenny Shin has had a not-so-great season in the LPGA Tour this year. The 32-year-old managed to gain 11 top-25 finishes all year long, 3 of which were 10th or under. Her best finish came at the end of July where she ended at T3 in the 2024 CPKC Women’s Open.

What’s more? The last few months of the season saw her pick up injuries after injuries. First, she withdrew from the 2024 FM Championship due to a muscle strain. Two months later, she had to pull out of the 2024 Maybank Championship as the muscle strain issue relapsed. She had only managed to play 3 events in between the injuries.

When Shin finished T61 in the Toto Japan Classic, she admitted that things didn’t turn out the way she had planned. However, she did not give up as she marched on in the final event of the year, the CME Group Tour Championship 2024. Unfortunately, the first three rounds saw her lingering around T60 as she went out on social media again to express her feelings.

After stating how disappointed Shin was with her performance, she received a lot of support from her fans as everyone encouraged her to finish the season strong. And so she did, after not being able to break par in the first 3 rounds, Jenny Shin was able to pull back a 7-under par 65 to finish in the T55th position.

Whether it was the support of the fans or her will to carry on, Jenny Shin was able to overcome her demons and end 2024 on a high, or so she thought. Just a few hours ago, Shin shared a post on Instagram that might not be the most promising news any pro could receive.

Shin announced that her 12-year partnership with a $51.8 million sponsor was over. The partner in question was Hanwha QCells, a technology manufacturing company from her home country, South Korea. She expressed how disheartened she was about the situation in the caption: “Felt like a relationship that could never end but I guess all things come to an end at some point. The security and the haven they provided is something that I cannot express. The amount of support and love that was shown through and through, I was extremely proud of being on the team, to say the least. It was truly an amazing journey and I loved every moment of it all. Thank you for everything @teamhanwhaqcells”
