After four days of high-quality golf, the Masters ended thrillingly. A topsy-turvy day 4 ended with a two-way tie for the title between UK golfers Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose. McIlroy proved his mettle in the playoff, edging out Rose by one stroke on Holly, the 18 hole. It will be a huge relief for the Northern Irish golfer, who fans wanted to see win the Masters, his fifth major title and first in 11 years.
Certainly, one excited fan is out there. That fan is Michelle Wie West, LPGA pro and one-time Major winner. Michelle Wie West had initially posted a story on Instagram with a fire emoji meter, which said, “How badly does everyone want Rory to win today?”
Some fans thought this was an indicator that she was rooting for McIlroy in the Masters and had asked her, “Do you not like Byrson?” Wie West responded with a story detailing her thoughts. “Totally not the case! I just would love to see Rory be able to finally accomplish his career grand slam and win a green jacket!” Well, the LPGA pro’s wish was granted with McIlroy’s playoff victory, but she had words for the golfer’s rival as well.

DeChambeau has definitely turned a few heads along the way, like Paige Spiranac’s. In Netflix’s Full Swing, she came clean about her past skepticism, confessing: “I was one of Bryson’s biggest haters. And now, looking back, I feel so guilty! Once I got to know him, I saw a whole new side of him. There’s this raw authenticity about him that I totally misunderstood before.”
So, Michelle Wie West sort of followed the same path, further adding words of encouragement for Bryson DeChambeau, stating, “I would love to see Bryson win too! As a player, I know how much this means to them, so I want everyone to win, but obviously that can’t happen.” Wie West’s caption read. But it did almost happen!
Bryson DeChambeau spent last night walking around the neighborhood. Ran into a local house party and had a putting contest with them in the backyard. Hard not to root for this guy. #TheMasters2025 pic.twitter.com/sO8jrmRc8P

DeChambeau has had a difficult fourth round, where he has carded 3 over par and fallen out of contention and into T5. His tee partner’s first victory at Augusta, nearly eleven years after his last major victory, will, however, serve as motivation for DeChambeau as he continues to push hard for a third major title. Wie West would also like to see the same.

Bryson DeChambeau’s final-round woes
“I just love coming back to Augusta every single year, and I really believe that I’m going to get it done there one of these days. It’s just a matter of time and continued hard work and learning from my failures,” stated The Scientist at the start of this season’s showdown event. DeChambeau headed into the final round second on the leaderboard and two strokes off Rory McIlroy in the lead. He started strong with a par and a birdie in the first two holes, but then ended up recording four bogeys and a double bogey to slip further down the standings.

His two birdies came as a saving grace, but DeChambeau will use this experience as a real learning episode in the days and title campaigns to come. This was surprising as the LIV Golfer was easily the most consistent performer across the first three days, carding 69, 68, and 69 across the three rounds before winding up with an unfortunate 75 during the last round.
So, can DeChambeau emulate Rory McIlroy’s feat and claim a Masters title in the coming years? Honestly, if his sporting spirit and belief in himself stay intact, he might! What do you think? Drop your thoughts below!
