Her low moment soon turned into one of the “worst” moments of her career, and the person to be blamed for it is Michelle Wie West.

From the confession, it seems that West did not even know that one of the most joyful moments of her career became a haunted memory for her LPGA compatriot.

In 2021, Korda made an appearance at the Leave It in the Locker Room podcast. Amidst an array of questions, the host asked her what had been one of the worst locker room moments of her career. Upon hearing the question, the LPGA cover girl reminisced about the 2018 HSBC Women’s World Championship that took place in Singapore.

The golfer shared about the incident that led to her worst locker room moment and shared that she was on a “hunt all day” for her “first win,” and West was playing alongside her. The 25-year-old shared that Wie West had won a tournament the previous week in Thailand and was playing exceptionally well. The two were looking forward to clenching the win, but soon Korda heard a “roar from the crowd.”

Talking about the exact moment she knew something was off, she said, “Michelle is playing on 18th and I’m over my ball on the 18th tee and I hear this huge roar. She makes it off from off the green like a massively long putt and, you know, I back off like I know something just happened. ” In response to the crowd cheering, 1x major champ hit a really good tee shot, but sadly, she just could not make it and finished in the second position.
