The PLAYERS Championship. It’s a tournament where golfers come with dreams and passion and their fair share of anger. No? Well, that’s the case with the world’s no. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who’s feeling frustrated despite hitting the ball incredibly well from tee to green. His putting has been a major letdown, and that’s partially because of the tough holes TPC Sawgrass has, with numerous good putts burning the edges or failing to convert. “The amount of good putts I hit that just went right around the hole… it’s been a common theme for me this year,” Scheffler said.
He’s currently six shots off the lead at 5-under, but remains optimistic about his chances, knowing he can come back strong like he did last year. Currently, Min Woo Lee is topping the leaderboard at The PLAYERS Championship, tied with Akshay Bhatia at 11-under. With winds forecasted to blow up to 30 miles per hour on Saturday, the challenge will only get tougher. Well, one golfer has come up with a tactic of sorts to add a roadblock.
Michael Kim’s latest Instagram post has revealed his rather mischievous strategy, as he’s rooting for some wild weather to shake things up at The PLAYERS Championship! He’s hoping for gusty winds of up to 40 miles per hour, saying, “I hope it blows 40 on them out there 😂 Let’s see some wind and lots of water balls!!” – and honestly, who can blame him? A little chaos never hurt anyone, and with the players already battling it out for the top spot, some strong gusts and tricky water hazards would definitely make things interesting.

Netizens find Micheal Kim’s comment ‘awesome’
Starting strong with what the fan said, “Mike, did the course force you to hit any uncomfortable fades, given how you are almost exclusively hitting a draw (right?)?” while the other one said, “That’s awesome 😂😂.” Well, Kim’s words may come true as the reports also suggest the same – The PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass is about to get a whole lot tougher! With strong winds expected to hit on Saturday afternoon, gusts exceeding 30 mph will make the already treacherous course even more unbearable.

The leaders will face the worst of it on the back nine, including the infamous island green, where aerial approaches will be at the mercy of the mercurial winds. It’s not just the leaders who’ll be affected, though – the wind is expected to persist throughout Sunday, and a cold front may even bring afternoon thunderstorms, potentially threatening the tournament’s scheduled finish.
Moving on, many fans praised the golfer on his lighthearted jab at other golfers as one of them said, “Love the carnage. 17 going to be a nightmare factory.” Another said, “You’re such a di…cool dude now! lol 😂.”
Well, the reports seem to have quite the opposite effect on the golfers as they appear to be excited. Instead of dreading the strong winds forecasted for the weekend, players like Justin Thomas are actually looking forward to the challenge. “I’m excited,” Thomas said, recalling his impressive 69 in similar windy conditions three years ago. Thomas loves the uniqueness of the course, which he believes amplifies the volatility of the game, making it possible to make birdies and doubles in quick succession.

Billy Horschel, a Ponte Vedra Beach resident, also acknowledges the challenge, saying, “The wind we’re expecting… is going to be one helluva challenge.” But Thomas’ enthusiasm is infectious, and it’s clear that these golfers are ready to take on whatever the weekend throws their way!
“lol.. you’re the best Michael!” said one fan and we think many would share the same sentiment. So, what are your thoughts on Kim’s comments? Let us know in the comment section below!
