‘Looks Like a God Amongst Us’: Tour Pro’s Mythical Tiger Woods Moment That Ended Horribly Wrong

Tiger Woods is one of the most successful and popular athletes of all time. He has won numerous major championships and holds several PGA records. Woods has had a significant impact on the sport of golf. He brought new levels of popularity and attention to the sport. 

The golf great has an enormous fan base which also includes the marvelous Harry Higgs. The 31-year-old has a successful career, and has won several tournaments and earning several top finishes. But seeing Woods playing a tee shot would become one of the most memorable moments of his life.

Higgs realises even Tiger Woods makes mistakes

Higgs had a realization when he got to see the legend play a tee shot. About three-four years ago, he was on the course for a PGA Tour event, he made a shot for the no.7 hole. The ball hit the flagstick and rolled down 15-20 yards off the edge of the course. Although it wasn’t a great shot, it got him to see Woods play his tee shot.

It was the most majestic thing he ever saw in golf. “Fog was just rolling in as we were finishing, and you are just looking up the hill at him (Woods). I mean, it looks like a god amongst us,” he said.

Although Higgs expected to witness something absolutely mind blowing, when Woods hit the shot, it was approximately about 45 yards off line. But I pleased him to see that the former no.1 makes mistakes too. “It’s nice to be reminded. He does it sometimes, too.”  

That moment became a core memory from him then and there, one he would never forget.

This incident is evidence of the fact that even though Woods is the GOAT, at the end of the day he is a normal person, who can also make mistakes.

The 47-year-old is one of the most accomplished golfers. But his career has also been marked by a number of mistakes and controversies. Furthermore, he has also been criticized for his behavior on the course, including outbursts and unsportsmanlike conduct.

Woods often had heated exchanges with caddies, opponents, officials and even fans. While these outbursts may be detrimental to his image, the has been able to channel his anger into focus and determination, allowing him to stay competitive at the highest levels of golf.
