Moreover, Tiger shares a special bond with Augusta national, being his first major win. But, back in 2020, he had a bitter moment at the Masters, one he would surely like to forget.

Tiger Woods meltdown on 12th hole

Woods has won several times at the Augusta National. He has a total of five green jackets from the first time winning in the year 1997. His recent one came in the year 2019. However, what happened next year in 2020, on the par-three 12th hole is a memory Woods like to erase. His meltdown on the 12th hole proves that probably even the sports’ greatest players do often find it difficult or hit bad shots.

The 46-year-old professional had a rather tough Sunday at Augusta back in 2020. It might be the one he would like to forget due to his meltdown on the 12th hole.

Tiger was cruising nicely in the first few rounds of the 202o Masters. However, he seemed to struggle early in the last round at Augusta. The 15-time major championship winner suffered an absolute meltdown on the par-three, 12th hole. The 12th hole is a par three measuring 155 yards and Tiger made a 10 on the hole. The first-ever 10 of his professional career.

Woods hit his tee shot into the water, took a drop, and again hit his wedge into the water. He took a drop again and hit his wedge into the bunker. He then thins his bunker shot into the water again. Woods then took yet another drop, hit his bunker shot on the green, missed the putt; carding a painful 10 on the hole.

Woods’ 2019 Masters heroics

Tiger won the 2019 Masters in emphatic fashion. He won the event with an overall score of 13-under-par and with a one-shot lead. His win at Augusta back in 2019 was his first major win in almost 11 years. Tiger carded a final round of 70, two-under-par in the final round of the event. He also won a prize money share worth $2,070,000.
