It goes without saying that Tiger Woods is among the most influential golf figures to date. The hold he has over people even forces his critics to admire his top-notch skills. And it is not just the common people but even the top-level golfers who couldn’t escape his impact and popularity. One such golfer is Paul Casey.
Fresh off his round from the LIV Golf Team Championship in Miami last weekend Casey is back on the green to practice. However, he took some time out to narrate an anecdote about Woods when he used to play with him in the early days.

Before Paul Casey switched over to the LIV Golf he played on the PGA Tour for many years. And there he got the opportunity to play with Woods as well. This week he took the opportunity during his practice sessions to narrate an anecdote of how during a tournament he and the other players involved Woods craze among fans. And Woods who is aware of the impression enjoyed it thoroughly.
This tiny session was named “Tiger Tales with Paul Casey” and in it, Casey said, “Many years ago now in Dubai, it was the desert classic. Iconic event on the European Tour and it was Tiger in his prime. Tiger was on the putting green doing some putting drills and it felt like the entire city had turned up to watch. And we are enjoying the scene. It’s fair to say that we are enjoying the scene.”

Casey continued, “The putting green is packed with all the other players and we are standing there. We are actually not looking at Tiger, we are taking in the scene and I never forget he comes sauntering over. He is like hey lads, by the way, they are not looking at you, they are all looking at me and he just wanders off. Classic Tiger.”

When Paul Casey left behind Tiger Woods
During the 2020 Masters Championship, Woods stepped in at Augusta as the defending champion. But in the first round, he was given tough competition by Paul who finished the day with seven-under 65 and left behind Woods who was four under. Rain on that morning impacted the course and halted the game but there was no stopping Casey who had vowed to outshine everyone else. Before that, he won against Woods in 2018 at the Valspar championship.
