Tiger Woods is probably one of the biggest names in the sport of golf. He is an 82-time PGA Tour winner and a 15-time major championship winner. Tiger has a long association with the famous sports clothing brand Nike and has been with the brand since 1996.

Tiger Woods’ first Niketown promo

Woods first appeared on the professional circuit in the year 1996 but that wasn’t the first time he came into the limelight. He came on the television at the age of two, where he was showcasing his putting skills on the Mike Douglas show.

“GOAT” as he is often referred to, signed his first contract worth $40 million for five years. In 2001, Nike renewed its contract to a whopping $100 million for 5 years and then a $20-40 million annually for an 8 years contract in 2006. Since 1996, the two have never parted ways even when Nike stopped manufacturing golf equipment in 2016. Tiger is not the only one gaining in his deal as Nike also achieved a huge brand value for the past 20 years.

Alexis Ohanian is the co-founder of Reddit and a successful businessman. He is the husband of the famous female tennis star Serena Williams. Apart from being a wealthy businessman, he likes to collect valuables and his latest collection includes the golf’s one of the best Tiger. Alexis purchased a collectible promo card of Woods’s first promo card of 1996. The promo card is in mint condition and Ohanian tweeted about the same.

Why does Woods wear red on Sundays?

We have seen Tiger woods in his iconic red and black outfit on Sundays since his early time as a professional golfer. He says he has been inspired by his mother to do so. He said “I wear red on Sundays because my mom thinks that that’s my power color,” Woods has said of the outfit. “And you know you should always listen to your mom.”
