Can a rough season dull a person’s charm? If we’re talking about Bubba Watson, the answer is a resounding no. This year may not have been his smoothest ride, with more downs than ups, yet Watson remains one of the sport’s brightest personalities—not just for what he does on the course, but for how he carries himself off it.
So, what went down this season? Well, for starters, the LIV golfer wrapped up in 53rd place in the individual standings, dropping him dangerously close to relegation territory. For a captain, that’s uncharted ground. Earlier, LIV exempted captains from such risks, but a rule shift now has RangeGoats GC’s leader facing the real possibility of losing his spot next year. A tough blow, no doubt.
But as always, Bubba is taking it in stride. Instead of brooding over his spot on the leaderboard or his recent struggles on the Asian Tour, he’s spending his days as only Watson can—by doubling down on his philanthropic efforts. The two-time Masters champ shows us once again that even in his toughest times, he’s determined to make a difference.

Watson’s Commitment to Making a Difference
Back in April 2024, RangeGoats GC announced the launch of its community impact program, Goats Give Back, in cooperation with Convoy of Hope. Recently, the team’s Instagram account gave fans a look into this mission in action, sharing a snapshot of team members Watson, Peter Uihlein, Matthew Wolff, and Thomas Pieters visiting Convoy of Hope in Guatemala.

The initiative itself is as unique as its name suggests. For every team the RangeGoats GC defeats at each LIV Golf event, they donate a goat to Convoy of Hope. But why goat? Globally, goats are often lifelines for families, providing essential nutrition and a sustainable income from milk, cheese, and butter. With the support of Convoy of Hope’s agriculture program, these goats become a stepping stone for families and communities, opening pathways to self-sufficiency and long-term prosperity.

Not just that, but Convoy of Hope also provides regular, nutritious meals to over 570,000 children worldwide. Through its Women’s Empowerment program, it helps women start their own businesses, helping them achieve financial independence and stability. And when disaster strikes—whether it’s a hurricane, flood, earthquake, or other crisis—Convoy’s disaster response teams are right there, bringing urgent relief to those in need.
Impressive, right? But for Watson, this isn’t anything new—he’s long been committed to giving back through acts of philanthropy.

Watson may not have clinched the win he wanted on the Asian Tour, but he still walked away with something far more meaningful—gratitude from families he’s helped shelter. Making his International Series debut at the Indonesian Masters, Watson didn’t just impress on the course. After acing the par-3 11th, he matched his prize with a donation to the Asian Tour’s charity partnership with Habitat for Humanity, donating a house to a family in need in Indonesia.
The shot itself was incredible—a 154-yard tee shot that spun right into the hole. But the real victory? Knowing it would change a family’s life. In his post-round interview, Watson talked about how much this moment meant to him.
“The game of golf has helped tremendously around the world. For all the charity things that golf has brought to the table, it’s very special to be a part of that,” he said, as per Sports Illustrated.

“It’s an honor… I heard there was another hole-in-one right behind me, so somebody needs to match that so there’ll be a couple families that will be helped out. So it’s an amazing thing that golf can do that for somebody, and be able to help people.” Watson added.
Once again, Watson turned a great golf moment into something even greater, proving that even when the trophies are out of reach, he’s still out there winning in all the ways that count.
