The widespread rumors surrounding the arrival of Columbian golfer, Sebastian Munoz to LIV Golf have come true. The World No. 93 has confirmed switching loyalties in an interaction with Colombia’s El Tiempo. But additionally, he has admitted to bringing another South American colleague to the cash-rich league.

But Munoz’s arrival will bring much-needed respite to the rebel league. The 30-year-old is an experienced player on the PGA Tour circuit. He even has a win, at the 2019 Sanderson Farms Championship.
But in the conversation with the news publication, he also admitted to bringing Chilean golfer Mito Pereira into the fold. The 27-year-old earned his PGA Tour card after toiling at the 2020-21 Korn Ferry tour.

While he may not come with any glittering accolades, Pereira could have nearly been a major champion. He came close to making it to a three-way playoff at the 2022 PGA Championship, but a poor tee shot on the final hole sank his chances.
What’s the plan for South American golfers on the LIV Series?
While the big signing is still awaited, the inclusion of Munoz and Pereira strengthens LIV Golf’s claims in South America. A two-time winner at the PGA Tour, Joaquin Niemann, is set to captain an all-South American team in the second season, which will include both of the new signings.

The schedule of the series also focuses on capturing the South American market. The first event of the new season will be held at Mexico’s beautiful El Camaleon Mayakoba course. The course was one of the standout venues on the PGA Tour calendar a few years ago, but it is now expected to be a LIV stronghold for the years to come.
With only days before the season starts, will there be any more signings from the LIV Golf Series? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
