Nikе may have lost another star golfer from its rostеr. One of the biggest shocks for the Swoosh was the rumored departure of Tigеr Woods, who has been with the brand for almost three decades. Another high-profile golfer who left Nikе was Jason Day, who signed a deal with Malbon Golf. The brand was just coping up with the loss and got hit with another probable departure.
Although Woods is still donning the Nike apparel, despite the widespread rumors. But this hasn’t been the case for one of the LIV stars, Matthew Wolff, whom Nike sponsors. The aforementioned LIV golfer has been in the news for quite some time for his rift with his teammates, and his recent social media post created an altogether different kind of frenzy in the golf world regarding his sponsorship with Nike.
On January 6, LIV Golf League’s official Instagram account posted a video of Matthew Wolff. He was seen practicing golf and shooting long strokes at Medalist as he was preparing for the upcoming LIV Golf season. What was noticeable about the video was the absence of any Nikе logo or product on Wolff. He wore a plain black hat, a purple polo shirt, black pants, and white shoes, none of which bore the distinctive Swoosh logo.

The official details about the terms and conditions of his sponsorship deal with Nikе are, however, unknown, but a sponsored athlete is sure to sport their sponsor’s product while playing the sport. Wolff signed the contract with the sportswear giant in 2019, and since then, he has been wearing the brand’s products head to toe.

This is a stark contrast to his previous practice sessions when he was wearing a full Nikе outfit, including a hat, shirt, pants, shoes, and gloves. Neither Wolff has made any official announcement about his sponsorship status with the brand, nor has Nikе. The golfer has created a range of tie-dye shoes and graphic T-shirts with the brand. His collection with the brand has turned a lot of eyes and has been a favorite amongst the masses.

If Wolff leaves Nikе too, he would be the second high-profile golfer to do so in recent months. Swoosh has been one of the dominant brands in golf for decades, signing some of the best players in the world and producing innovative products and campaigns. However, the company has also faced some challenges and changes in the golf market, especially after it decided to stop making golf equipment and focus on apparel and footwear.
