When LIV Golf was conceptualized, and inaugurated it received a lot of hate from people. One of those people who showed criticism towards the league back then, and are continuing to do so is Brandel Chamblee. The popular golf analyst has been engaged in a war of words with LIV golfers such as Phil Mickelson for quite some time now. His recent target, though, was not Mickelson, but Brooks Koepka.
Koepka is one of the golfers who are on the run to make it to the US team for the upcoming Ryder Cup. But that too is in troubled waters right now! Chamblee recently attended a talk show wherein he shared his two cents about Koeopka’s participation in the 2023 Ryder Cup.

The feud between LIV golfer, Brooks Koepka and popular golf analyst, Brandel Chamblee just got some more hint of gasoline in it. The 61-year-old has not been a very big fan of the Saudi-funded league, and he has made it pretty clear at times. The former golfer has picked up fights with Mickelson and has bashed him for his betting allegations as well.
On Thursday, Chamblee was the prime guest on Golf.com’s Golf Central pregame show and he discussed Koepka’s involvement in the Ryder Cup in the US team. The former professional had some serious thoughts about the 5X major winner making it to the team, so much so that he said that Keopka not being a part of the team is a great thing.
Expressing his strong opinion about the 33-year-old’s participation in the team, he said that to ensure that the American team goes in the right direction and is more cohesive in nature, “Brooks Koepka missing this team would be good for this team.”
Chamblee also said that the point of Koepka’s involvement in the Ryder Cup should be regardless of what his feats have been or how his participation would impact the United States game in Rome.
Although, the 3X PGA Championship winner’s spot in the team is still not assured with all the changes taking place in the rankings at BMW Championship.

It was recently reported that the 5X Major champion’s spot in the Rome showdown is somewhat in trouble. When the BMW Championship began, Koepka was in the fourth position, and just under him in the table was Xander Schauffele. After the first two rounds at Olympia Fields, Schauffele was still below Koepka in the Ryder Cup Standings table.
But with the two rounds remaining, the PGA Tour pro could outshine the LIV Golfer and push him below his initial spot. If the 7X PGAT champ comes through and steals Koepka’s spot, the LIV defector could miss his place in the team, as his chances of being a captain’s pick are not too high.
