Is LIV Golf trying to set up Brooks Koepka on a date? LIV Golf is known for taking the unorthodox route to gain attention and stay relevant. Fans were very critical of Scott O’Neil after the failure of the 2025 LIV Golf Riyadh’s night schedule. Despite O’Neil’s denial, the ratings for the event proved that the night-golf experiment was a major failure.

More recently, it was one of LIV Golf’s players who had caught the limelight. Cameron Smith was mocked for his hilarious attempt to stop a rolling ball from ruining his putt. As the ball was spinning down the hill on the green, Smith was seen running over 100 yards towards it to mark the ball before it’s out of reach. Unfortunately, by the time he reached it, the ball had already rolled off the green. Fans didn’t shy away from mocking the Australian pro after the hilarious situation.

This time around, it’s Brooks Koepka who has become the butt of the joke. Eric Patterson shared a tweet showing the Smash GC captain awkwardly walking down a street surrounded by fans. Where was he heading, you ask? Well, the 34-year-old, who recently shut down rumors of wanting to move back to the PGA Tour, was on his way to LIV Golf Singapore’s Champions Dinner. The PGA Tour has also been doing something similar with the Masters Tournament Champions Dinner since 73 years. So why was it funny when LIV golf did it? It’s because LIV Golf Singapore has had only two champions so far, Brooks Koepka and Talor Gooch. That means LIV Golf has essentially set up a date between Koepka and Gooch in an exclusive setting at Sentosa Golf Club on Monday, March 10, 2025.

Patterson also pointed the same out in the tweet as he stated, “There’s a LIV Singapore champions dinner which means Koepka and Gooch are on a date”. And as one would expect, this received a lot of reactions from the fans and journalists alike. Let’s see what they had to say.

Brooks Koepka’s date night in Singapore gets hilarious reactions

It was not only the fans who had a laugh about the entire situation. Famed golf journalist also chimed in to leave their opinions on the situation. Golf Digest’s Senior Writer, Alex Myers, clarified that he is “Legit LOLing” about the entire situation. Well, watching Brooks Koepka and Talor Gooch at a candlelight dinner organized by LIV Golf does paint a hilarious picture.

As many would have thought, one of the fans mentioned, “lol at least wait until there are 3 winners”. Having 3 professional golfers at a Champions Dinner is definitely better than setting up a date between two of their past winners. Even the Masters Tournament officials waited for 18 years after the first major event to host the Champions dinner.

Kyle Porter also pointed out the awkwardness of the situation by saying, “the strangest timeline”. Like many in the comments, they, too, believe that LIV Golf could have postponed the Champions Dinner for another year. That would have helped them avoid an awkward two-person date scenario between Talor Gooch and Brooks Koepka.

Another fan stated, “Everything about this picture, the situation, and LIV in general is awkward. LIV specializes in cringe”. They believe that it’s LIV Golf that needs to be blamed for making this situation so awkward. But the picture of Brooks Koepka walking down the street in between a crowd certainly seemed awkward. What was even more weird is the fact that he was wearing a green t-shirt, as if he is donning the coveted green jacket. He may have not intended to do that, but considering the entire situation, it does seem quite awkward.

Then there was someone who couldn’t take the criticism as they resorted to facts. They commented, “Rangegoats and Ripper are also there.” Looking at their profile, they call themselves the “LIV Golf’s biggest fan!”. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that they have come to Brooks Koepka & Co.’s defence.

What do you think about Brooks Koepka’s awkward date with Talor Gooch at Sentosa Golf Club? Do you think LIV Golf will also start giving out green jackets to LIV Golf Singapore winners this year? Let us know in the comments section.
